Who we are

The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS) was founded in 1993 in Washington, USA, and is today registered as an international, independent, not for profit organisation in Belgium.

TIEMS is an international network of users, planners, researchers, industry, managers, response personnel, practitioners, social scientists, and other interested parties within emergency and disaster management.

TIEMS Benelux is the local chapter of TIEMS International which was established in 2006 to exchange information and technologies within emergency and disaster management throughout the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).

What we do

TIEMS Benelux promotes the exchange of information on the use of innovative methods and technologies within emergency and disaster management, in order to improve our ability to avoid, mitigate, respond to, and recover from natural and technological disasters.
Through the organisation of conferences, symposiums, round tables and working groups, TIEMS Benelux acts as a gateway to a global network of users, planners, researchers and decision makers coming from
